About IPI Apparel Services

Iowa Prison Industries' Custom Imprintable Apparel operation is part of the Mitchellville Textiles division.

We offer embroidery and screen printing on a wide array of garments. We can personalize everything from dress and polo shirts for your organization to t-shirts and hats for your recreational sports team. We can create custom artwork for you, or you can supply us your own. Then we’ll apply it to any of our huge selection of brand name apparel or you can even supply your own apparel if desired.

IPI proudly offers competitive pricing and excellent customer service. Quotes are provided at no charge. Then you can place your order knowing it will be completed with the same high standards IPI has set for all our products.

Embroidery
IPI offers embroidery on virtually any of our clothing and accessory options. Embroidery charges are based on stitch counts; logo size, complexity, and number of colors all affect a logo's stitch count. Standard logo size is 3-3.5" on the left or right chest and 2.5" on hats.

Embroidery fees (per logo per piece):
- Under 6,000: $3.00
- 6,001 - 10,000: $5.00
- 10,001 - 14,000: $7.00
- 14,001 - 18,000: $9.00
- 18,001 - 22,000: $11.00
- 22,001 - 26,000: $13.00

Logo set-up: Initial logo set-up charge is $25 per logo. This is a one-time logo charge (you will only be charged the logo fee on the first order you place that uses that logo). The $25 fee will be waived on initial orders of 50 or more pieces. Logos should be provided in a vector format (.EPS or .AI).

Logo fonts: If a specific font is not required per an organization's branding guidelines, customers can choose from IPI's standard embroidery fonts. If another font is required, the font files may need to be supplied or the text should be provided in a vector format.

Screen Printing
IPI offers traditional screen printing on most of our apparel and accessory options. Screen print projects are priced according to the size, number of colors, and complexity of the logo(s).

Logo set-up: Initial logo set-up charges are as follows:
- 1- to 2-color logo: $25 per logo
- 3- to 4-color logo: $50 per logo
- 5+ colors: $75 per logo.
These are one-time logo charges (you will only be charged the logo fee on the first order you place that uses that logo). Setup fees will be waived on initial orders of 50 or more pieces with one to four colors. Logos should be provided in vector format (.EPS or .AI).

Patches / Patch Application
While IPI does not produce embroidered patches to apply to clothing, IPI can either sew your patches on clothing for a competitive price or we can work with a patch supplier on your behalf.

Artwork Submission
IPI prefers to receive your artwork via e-mail or the Request For Clothing Embellishment Quote form in the formats listed above. However, if you are unable to provide in these formats, we will try to work with whatever you can provide; extra charges may apply.

Colors
IPI can match thread and ink colors to virtually any color in your logo. If exact colors are required due to brand guidelines, Pantone® colors should be provided. For customers without specific brand colors, IPI offers a selection of standard thread colors to choose from as shown on our Standard Embroidery Thread Colors sheet.

Order Delivery Time Frame
IPI strives to fulfill all apparel orders within 30 days from receipt of order with approved, digitized logo. If you have a rush order, please let us know your deadline, and we will try to accommodate.

Return Policy
Personalized clothing and accessories are non-returnable. Please work with your customer service representative to ensure the colors and sizes of clothing and accessories ordered are correct.

Shipping Charges
IPI's standard freight policy applies to all Office & School Apparel orders.
