Congratulations to IPI's Marketing Manager Ann Baughman on her recent graduation from the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute's (GDMLI) Community Leadership Program.
Ann's journey with the Community Leadership Institute's Class of 2016 began in February 2015 with an application and interview process. Once accepted into the program, Ann attended class approximately one afternoon every three weeks from August through May. In addition to the class participation, class members worked in teams on projects for local non-profit organizations. Ann's project team worked with the Iowa Homeless Youth Center in Des Moines on their art space. Read more about the project on Ann's previous blog post "Project Spotlight: Iowa Homeless Youth Center Art Studio."
The Community Leadership Program (CLP) is Central Iowa's premier leadership development program. The nine-month curriculum offers a view of Greater Des Moines from divergent vantage points, heightens participant awareness of current conditions and issues, enhances individual and group leadership skills, and helps class members see themselves as partners for change.
Each year, fifty emerging and existing leaders from the private, public and non-profit sectors of the community are selected to participate in this transformational program. Ideal candidates are committed to career advancement, to leading community change, and are passionate about the Greater Des Moines community.
IPI is proud to have a staff member participate in the Community Leadership Program (CLP). Congratulations Ann!
