Each year, one IPI staff member is chosen from a list of nominees to receive the Tina Bridges Excellence in Service Award. This award, named to commemorate the impact of the late Tina Bridges, is presented to a staff member who goes above and beyond in their dedication to the organization and providing outstanding service to our customers. At the IPI All Staff Training Conference held this past October, the Excellence in Service award was presented to Ruthie Mosser.
Ruthie has worked at IPI for over 19 years at the Anamosa Business Office, where she has assumed Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable roles and currently serves as IPI’s Purchasing Agent. In this position, Ruthie is responsible for all of IPI’s purchasing, including bids, contracts, and ensuring all purchases follow DAS rules. In her work, Ruthie goes above and beyond, constantly supporting the organization’s requests while adhering to the state regulations among many other responsibilities. Her dedication even goes as far as working diligently from home after undergoing two surgeries, making sure she was doing everything she could to support the organization.
The following words come from Ruthie:
“Thank you to the IPI coworker that nominated me for the Tina Bridges Excellence in Service Award! The write up probably meant more to me than anything I have experienced in my 19+ years. I have always put IPI first; my coworkers, my customers, and making things happen is what I have always strived to do on a daily basis. Thank you to the leadership team for awarding me this honor.”
“In honor of Tina and others who have gone before us, choose a coworker to mentor and/or reach out to a coworker that you respect and ask them to mentor you. I did not write this, but I 100% believe it: ‘A mentor is someone who can offer wisdom and encouragement to a mentee. By tapping into their personal experience, they can provide unique insights into situations that the mentee may not otherwise consider. A good mentor builds up the mentee and helps them become the best version of themselves.’”
“Thank you IPI for almost 20 years of experience and learning so much about things I never knew I needed to know about in my life. Remember, ‘Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.’”
