Each year, the state of Iowa nominates one IPI employee for the NCIA (National Correctional Industries Association) Staff Award who displays superior performance and excellence in their program. We are thrilled to announce that this year, Tammy Nielsen was chosen as the NCIA Staff Nominee for the Central Region!
After being employed as a traditional industries sales representative with IPI for several years, Tammy began working with IPI's private industries program in 2021. Her first year was spent promoting the program to potential partners, learning IPI's capabilities, and navigating private sector procedures in addition to her traditional sales duties. In 2022, Tammy assumed full management of IPI's private industries program, and has been crucial to its continued success.
"Tammy took on the challenge of her new position without missing a beat," said IPI Sales & Marketing Manager Ann Baughman. "She spent countless hours in our shops, with our partners, and with our previous Director to learn all the ins and outs of private industries." Tammy always has a positive outlook, represents IPI in a professional manner, fully supports our mission, and is always willing to help out whenever and wherever it is needed within the organization.
