The IPI Sales & Marketing Team hit the road October 9, 2015, to tour two IPI operations – Rockwell City and Fort Dodge – in order to learn more about their capabilities.
The first stop was IPI Rockwell City, which is primarily a metal fabrication and production operation, located at the North Central Correctional Facility. IPI Rockwell City houses IPI's equipment refurbishing operation, where the facility takes in large equipment (such as snow plows, dumpsters, dump truck beds, trailers) and refurbishes them to a like-new condition. The facility also produces some of IPI's parks and recreation furnishings such as grills, fire rings and park benches. View more pictures of the tour of IPI Rockwell City on the IPI Facebook page.
The Fort Dodge Correctional Facility houses IPI's newest Textiles operation, which has been producing jeans since April 2015. IPI Fort Dodge operates on Lean concepts such as a one-piece production flow in order to meet our customers' demand for quality and delivery. 5S methodology (sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain) helps ensure the facility remains neat and clean. Seeing these facilities in action is invaluable to the Sales & Marketing Team to better learn about IPI's capabilities, and look at how they can utilize these capabilities to better meet their customers needs.
